Can I email/call/write/visit my camper while they are at camp?
We don't have a means of emailing campers, but you are encouraged to send them a letter. Remember that the rural mail service takes even a day longer than normal, so at the very least you probably need to mail them Tuesday or Monday (or even the week before) to ensure they get it. We generally discourage calls or visits (outside of any scheduled parents' time) so that we help them stay focused on the fun camp experience.
Can My Camper Bring A Cell Phone With Them?
While we understand that many kids have phones, we do not permit campers to have phones with them during camp. This gives them a great opportunity to disconnect from the outside world while making solid connections with others here at camp and hopefully with God, the creator of the awesome natural world they can see and experience here at camp! There are also safety concerns we want to eliminate by disallowing phones at camp. Any phones that campers bring to camp will be sent to the "Cell Phone Vacation Resort" (a plastic box with labeled envelopes) that resides in the camp office until the end of the week."

What time do I drop my camper off and when do I pick them up?
You should be receiving an email 1-2 weeks ahead of camp with this specific information.
What are the meals like?
We do our best to provide healthy, balanced meals prepared in the kitchen by trained staff. Generally, we have multiple servings of meats, vegetables, fruit, and bread per day in the form of meals like (not necessarily including) homemade pizza, spaghetti, tacos, hamburgers, sandwiches, and nachos. Sides might include peaches, pears, lettuce salad, french fries, or tater tots. We like fresh foods at camp!
What if my camper has Food/Dietary restrictions/allergies?
We do our best to accommodate special dietary needs. We regularly provide gluten-free and/or dairy-free options upon request. If your child has other dietary needs, please let us know about the need and their sensitivity level and we will do what we can to meet those needs. If we are unable to provide the necessary foods, and you would like to provide alternate meals, you are welcome to send prepared meals and we will gladly serve them to your child.
If your child has specific food allergies, please discuss this with us ahead of time.

How much should I send with my camper for store/canteen money
and what kind of stuff is in it?
and what kind of stuff is in it?
For the older campers (Middle School/Sr. High), the store/canteen will have pop and candy bars and we might limit them to 2-3 items per day ($10-15/week). And, for the elementary campers we provide snacks/cookies/treats in lieu of the store/canteen.
I'm not sure how well my camper will do with being away from home overnight
what do you do about that?
what do you do about that?
We obviously encourage them to refocus on the fun camp experience - especially looking forward to the upcoming events. If it gets to be a hardship, we will go ahead and call home and leave our options open from there.

What is your cancellation policy?
If, for some reason, a reservation needs cancelled, we can refund all but the $10 deposit.
What if my camper needs special accommodation?
The camper-used portions of our buildings are all on the ground floor and have sidewalks leading up to them, so they are accessible. The rest of the camp activities are outside and do not have special accommodations. Again, let us know what your camper's special need is and we can try to work with you to give them the full camp experience.
Do you have a tornado/storm shelter and what is your storm procedure?
Both our bathhouse and the bathhouse portion of our retreat center are built into the side of a hill and are built out of reinforced concrete block and designated as storm shelters. We actively monitor weather radios and radar/news as needed and any time we are in a tornado watch and a storm comes, we go to these shelters.
What If My Camper Has Medications?
We are well equipped to handle camper medications. We collect all medications at the start of the camp, keep them locked up (to ensure everyone's safety), and dispense them at your requested times.
What If My Camper Gets Sick or Injured?
Our staff have been trained in general health & safety, and, in an emergency, we will quickly implement planned responses. In the event of a severe injury, that means we will take the necessary care of them first and then contact you, the parent/guardian. If your camper has a minor complaint, at the Camp Nurse's discretion, we may give over-the-counter medications as needed. If that happens multiple times, and/or if it is more than a minor complaint, we will be quick to be in contact with you in regards to moving forward.
